Good Music, Good Crowd At NCBS Grange Concert In Aromas

The townspeople of Aromas and their bluegrass friends  turned out in force for the launch of a possible new NCBS concert series at the Aromas Grange Hall on Sunday evening. Bill Hunter welcomed everyone, the Sherry Austin Band gave us a great set heavy on classic  Kate Wolf tunes (foreshadowing their appearance at the June Kate Wolf Memorial Festival), and Jimmy Chickenpants closed the show with an eclectic, hard-driving collection of bluegrass, newgrass, and country songs (foreshadowing their appearance at the August Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival). The Grange made good progress on money for the new roof and a good time was had by all.
