NCBS Honorary Lifetime Member “Yodeling Lady Lolita” Ferrell Hospitalized
NCBS Honorary Lifetime Member Lolita Ferrell, who was most-recently honored with a special NCBS Outstanding Achievement Award at the March 2009 Brookdale Bluegrass Festival, has been hospitalized for tests and may be set for surgery. She would love to hear from her bluegrass friends at (831) 637-5711. She is in Room 16B. Cards can be mailed to her at Hazel Hawkins Hospital, 911 Sunset Drive, Hollister, CA. 95023 and visitors are welcome.
It would be best to call ahead, as Lolita has firm plans to be well enough to go home by tomorrow (April 29), but it is not clear what her doctors have in mind (yes, that is our Lolita!). Regardless, Lolita will have to miss singing a song at Saturday’s Santa Cruz Bluegrass Fair and sends her apologies to her fans.
“Yodeling Lady Lolita” has been an audience favorite since the founding of the Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival in 1994, and is set to perform there again this August. As of this afternoon, she says she will absolutely be there (”I love that festival”).
