Committee Spotlight: The NCBS Website Committee

The Northern California Bluegrass Society Website is the oldest continuously-served bluegrass music website in the world. Over the years, many Society volunteers have worked hard to make area bluegrass information conveniently available.  A new team revamped the site in the Fall of 2008.

The NCBS Webmaster is Stewart Evans of Santa Cruz. He also serves as Co-Editor of of the NCBS print magazine Bluegrass By The Bay. He created, developed, and maintains the current version of the site, handles technical issues and plans for future expansion of the website. He also handles day-to-day e-commerce functions  and trains other volunteers to work on the website. He also helps with content.

Michael Hall of Redwood City, who also serves as NCBS President and performs other volunteer duties for the Society, is the Chief Content Provider & Recruiter for the website. He is responsible for gathering the news and other information, assisting others in supplying content, and for promoting use of the site.

NCBS Membership Chair Gary Anwyl of Palo Alto handles member access to the member-only sections of the website and customer service matters concerning the electronic “.pdf” delivery of the BBB magazine. He also does other important business-related volunteer work for the Society.

The other Bluegrass By The Bay Co-Editor, Jessica Evans of Santa Cruz, both provides content to the website and selects content from the website for later inclusion in the print/.pdf magazine, as a part of that publication’s offerings, so that NCBS members who are unable or unwilling to use the website’s services will not miss the most important NCBS news items. She also serves on the NCBS Board of Directors, is Co-Volunteer Coordinator, and does other important work for the Society.

Other NCBS leaders and volunteers also do important work on the website.

NCBS members are welcome to join the website committee. Your committee has received many positive comments about the new site, but we recognize that there is much more to be done on this project. Get in touch with either (Stewart Evans) stewart (at) lunula (dot) com or (Michael Hall) hallmw (at) gmail (dot) com to volunteer.
