The Northern California Bluegrass Society will sponsor the September 11-13 Jake’s Brown Barn Bluegrass Festival in San Martin. The Society will provide support and assistance to the 4th-year event that was founded by the late Jake Quesenberry, a long-time NCBS member and regular performer at the Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival. The members of The Quesenberry Family have continued the intimate weekend festival as a memorial to their father. Hardworking volunteers from the Gilroy-Morgan Hill area round out the festival crew; now NCBS volunteers will join in.

The 2009 Brown Barn fest will be held at the same location as in past years, now renamed the San Martin-Ludwig Ranch Park. The facility is perfect for the relaxed gathering of local bluegrass bands and their fans, plus plenty of bluegrass jammers. The stage is in the barn and camping is nearby with nice grass, shade trees and picnic facilities available.

So far, the line-up includes the Alhambra Valley Band, Angelica Grim & Friends, Sidesaddle & Co., and OMGG, with more to be added.
