As we all stream back from Hollister with the warm glow of another fun Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival in our tummies, it is time to look ahead to the rest of the August festivals. Here are the listings for the rest of the month:

Golden Oldtime Campout
Mendocino County Fairgrounds, Boonville
August 21-23

This revitalized old-time gathering, now sponsored by the California Bluegrass Association, Sonoma County Folk Society, and the Berkeley Old-Time Music Convention has a new date and a new location closer to the Bay Area. Sounds like fun!

Summergrass
Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum, Vista
August 21-23

San Diego’s big annual bluegrass gathering features nationally-touring and area bands at a nice venue. Presented by our friends at the San Diego Bluegrass Society and the San Diego North County Bluegrass & Folk Club.

Bowers Mansion Bluegrass Festival
Bowers Mansion Regional Park, Carson City, NV.
August 21-23

The Northern Nevada Bluegrass Association’s anchor festival has grown beyond the one-day showcase still held at Bowers Mansion proper to a full weekend of informal bluegrass performances and camping fun at nearby Davis Creek Park & Campground.

Bluegrass Campout
Lighthouse Resort, Isleton
August 24-31

This is an intimate second-year California Bluegrass Association-sponsored event at a marina/campground resort in the Sacramento Delta.
