September 11-13 — 4th Annual Jake’s Brown Barn Bluegrass Festival

NCBS will sponsor this weekend’s tribute to the late Jake Quesenberry. Nice small weekend gathering with excellent talent onstage and hot jamming in the evenings down at the San Martin-Ludwig Ranch Park, San Martin (same venue as in past years, with a new name).

October 3 — 8th Annual Johnson Farm Picking Party

The best afternoon of bluegrass jamming all year, held at the idyllic Johnson Farm, Boulder Creek.

October 10 — 14th Annual NCBS Volunteer Party

Honoring all the Northern California Bluegrass Society volunteers who work so hard to make it all happen! By exclusive invitation only at an undisclosed location.

October 24 — RBA  Concert: Frank Wakefield

The “backward talking” mandolin virtuoso Frank Wakefield and his bluegrass band will perform in an NCBS-sponsored Redwood Bluegrass Associates concert in Mountain View.  Details on the RBA website.

November 14 — RBA Concert: John Reischman & The Jaybirds

One of the hottest bluegrass units on the West Coast will bring its creative style to Mountain View in this NCBS-sponsored Redwood Bluegrass Associates concert.
