The following bands and musicians were voted winners in the first two Northern California Bluegrass Awards (2008, 2009):

Male Vocalist: Billy Pitrone

Female Vocalist: Diana Donnelly

Guitar: Jerry Ashford, Glenn Houston, Yoseff Tucker

Mandolin: Kim Elking, Butch Waller

Banjo: Larry Cohea, Bill Evans

Fiddle: Annie Staninec

Dobro: Jim Mintun

Bass: Lisa Burns

Voting for the third annual awards will take place in two rounds this winter. The 2010 Northern California Bluegrass Awards ceremony will be held on March 13, 2010 in Redwood City, as part of the March 11-14 Northern California Bluegrass Society Bluegrass On Broadway Festival.

The FREE festival receives principal financial support from the Redwood City Civic Cultural Commission,  Redwood City Public Library,  Friends of the Library, Peninsula Christian Center, and Provident Credit Union.
