Carl Pagter To Host NCBS Bluegrass On Broadway Film Festival March 14 In Redwood City
Carl Pagter of Walnut Creek will return as host of the NCBS International Bluegrass Music Museum Film Festival on March 14, 2010. The FREE film festival is part of the March 11-14 Bluegrass On Broadway Festival.
Pager is the founder of the California Bluegrass Association, a lifetime member of the Northern California Bluegrass Society, and a trustee of both the Foundation For Bluegrass Music and the International Bluegrass Music Museum. He is a nationally-touring old-time banjo player and singer with his band Country Ham and also performs locally with the Mount Diablo String Band. NCBS honored him with a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008.
The film festival is the nation’s only juried bluegrass documentary film event, and exhibits both independent works and selections from the IBMM’s Bluegrass Masters Oral History Project.
The Northern California Bluegrass Society’s Bluegrass On Broadway Festival receives principal financial support from the City of Redwood City’s Civic Cultural Commission, the Redwood City Public Library, and the Tapestry Church, as well as other Redwood City businesses and organizations.
