The August 13-15, 2010 Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival will again feature a tee shirt designed by a contest winner.  We want everyone, big or small, picker or listener, to feel like their ideas are precious to our process.

Our Prize Package: 2010 Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival Tickets for 2 Adults and their children, plus a free tee shirt for the person with the winning design, with their name next to the design.

Contest Rules: The competition is open to everyone.  NCBS membership is not required.

1) No art skills are necessary. Any and all designs submitted will be considered. If someone has an idea to share, but limited ability to draw, no problem. You may send us photographs, or even letters describing  your ideas. We can always adjust your draft for printing. 2) It would be really nice, but not a requirement to win, if the design could reflect that the Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival is about California bluegrass and supports California musicians.

3) We are especially hoping for drawings from children. If your kids can hold a pencil or crayon, turn them loose, and who knows? Your child could be the next Bluegrass Picasso!

4) Drawings must be on plain, white, non glossy 8 ½ by 11” paper. Photographs should be big enough that we can clearly see your idea, and glued to the paper.

5) Somewhere in the design or photo we need to see where we can include “NCBS” and “2010.”

6) The name of the artist, and age and grade if under age 18, must be written on the BACK side of the paper or photo. This is so the judges can be impartial in their considerations.

7) Designs can be in one, two, or three colors. It is OK to use pencils, pens, markers, water colors, ink, or crayons.

You may enter as many times as you like. If you have another idea, or an improvement on a previous submission, send it in!  The more ideas the better! All entries must be postmarked by May 1, 2010. I will submit them to the Festival Committee on May 10, 2010. We regret that we will be unable to return any submissions, due to the cost and time factors that would involve. The winner will be announced after the June NCBS board meeting. Thank you in advance for participating.  It will be so exciting to see your ideas!
