The 2010 Finalists for the Northern California Bluegrass Awards will be announced on Tuesday, February 16 after 8:00pm on KZSU Radio, 90.5FM in the Central and South Bay Areas and online. NCBS President Michael Hall will be a guest on the Sarah Bellum That’s Not Bluegrass Show on the Stanford station.

The awards are made in nine categories: Bluegrass Band, Male & Female Vocalists, and 6 Instruments — Guitar, Mandolin, Banjo, Fiddle, Dobro, and Bass – and honor Northern California’s primarily non-touring bluegrass bands and musicians.  Five finalists will be announced for each category. In addition, four individuals will be honored with Lifetime Achievement Awards.

The Northern California Bluegrass Awards ceremony is set for March 13, 2010 at the Northern California Bluegrass Society’s Bluegrass On Broadway Festival (March 11-14) in Redwood City.
