Two Big Weekend Concerts On The Peninsula
There are two big bluegrass concerts this weekend on the Peninsula:
The Second Annual PTA Palooza on Friday, May 13 at 7:00pm is a benefit concert for the Juana Briones School PTA with Laurie Lewis & The Right Hands (Berkeley), The Tuttles With A. J. Lee (Palo Alto), and Snap Jackson & The Knock On Wood Players (Stockton). Spangenberg Theatre (Gunn High School), Palo Alto. Informal food will be available before the show. (NCBS-sponsored.)
Redwood Bluegrass Associates will present The David Grisman Bluegrass Experience (Petaluma) on Saturday, May 14 at 8:00pm. First Presbyterian Church, Mountain View. A pre-concert open jam begins at 5:00pm and dessert will be served at the show. (NCBS-sponsored.)
Also this weekend:
Help local bluegrass radio: KALW Radio (91.7FM, San Francisco) is conducting a “quiet” membership drive that does not interrupt programming. Those joining or renewing will receive the usual premiums. To be rewarded in a bluegrass sort of way, call in or pledge online during Peter Thompson’s Bluegrass Signal show, 6:30-8:00pm on Saturday, May 14. Details.
