NCBS BCBOT Festival Returns To Boulder Creek July 13-15 With BanjerDan
The NCBS Summer Boulder Creek Bluegrass & Old Timey Festival, hosted by Eric Burman and his Brookdale Bluegrass crew, has been set for July 13-15, 2012 and will be headquartered at Scopazzi’s Restaurant in Boulder Creek.
The line-up includes BanjerDan, The Juncos, Common Cents, Cactus Bob & Prairie Flower, The String Slingers, The Driftless, Sons of Jefferson, Laura Lind, Jean Butterfield, and more to be added.
BanjerDan (Dan Mazer) is a banjo player and multi-instrumental performer based in the Washington, DC area. His style is an Americana mix, rooted in straight-ahead bluegrass and branching into many musical genres.
Since taking up music in 1974, Dan has performed in almost every imaginable situation, in the U.S. and overseas, from busking, coffeehouses and bar gigs to musical theater productions, theme parks, children’s shows, studio work and solo strolling appearances, and even symphonic concertizing.
He received his Bachelor’s degree in Music Theory from George Washington University in 1984, and has played in numerous bands, including J.B. Beverley & the Wayward Drifters, The Jackstraws, and more. This will be his second appearance on a NCBS festival stage.
The BCBOT, held several times a year since 1998, was formerly staged at the nearby Brookdale Lodge prior to its closing.
