What’s New At The Brown Barn This Year?

Last year, the NCBS-sponsored Brown Barn weekend festival season-ending gathering got a nice new home at The Music Medic’s Franklin Ranch in Gilroy (moving 3 miles south from San Martin). This year, there are lots of brand new improvements planned for October 12-14:

New Name: This event is an intimate annual gathering of old and new bluegrass friends, so after — “Brown Barn Bluegrass Festival” and “Jake’s Brown Barn Bluegrass Festival” — we now have a new name that perfectly captures the spirit of the event — Jake’s Brown Barn Bluegrass Reunion.

New Sound: This year, for the first time, Alan Lam — known to area bluegrass fans for his excellent work at many RBA concerts, will be with us in Gilroy to do the sound.

New Sponsor: For the first time, Redwood Bluegrass Associates has become a formal sponsor of the Reunion, by paying for Alan Lam to do the sound.

New Food: For the first time, the historic non-profit organization E. Clampus Vitas will provide the food concessions for attendees at the festival, including the (new) Saturday evening Jake’s Family Potluck Dinner (bring a side dish and come on down).

This event just gets better every year! See you there!
