Both of these albums feature favorite songs from Janie and Lynn with instrumental backup from some of the top bluegrass instrumentalists in the recording industry. David Talbot plays a fast-paced and rhythmic banjo, Randy Kohrs plays an expressive dobro, Luke Bulla and Andy Leftwich play fiddle, Johnny Hiland plays acoustic guitar and Mark Fain plays bass. Both albums have an enjoyable selection of songs and depending on a listener’s personal favorites, either one would be an excellent choice. This reviewer’s personal favorites are Lynn’s “Rocky Top” and “Under the Boardwalk” and Janie’s “Faithless Love” and “She’s Single Again.” |
