Charlie Sizemore's tenor voice graced the Clinch Mountain Boys for ten years and for the last 15 years he has led his own band. His voice highlights the fine songs of Tom T. Hall in this CD and it's a great combination of fine lyrics and fine voice. The songs range from the opening bounce of "Mama's Got The Catfish Blues", the hard driving "Waiting on the Other Shoe to Fall," the lyrical tribute in "Kentucky in the Morning" to the simple longing of a life spent wandering in "Pamela Brown." Kathy Mattea and Ralph Stanley add harmony vocals, but its Charlie's voice that stands out in all the solo songs. Charlie has surrounded himself with the talents of J.D. Crowe on banjo, Randy Kohrs on dobro, Danny Barnes on mandolin and Aubrey Haynie on fiddle.
