The Northern California Bluegrass Society is a non-profit organization that is member supported and run by an organization of volunteers. The society publishes a monthly newsletter called "Bluegrass By the Bay." Members receive Bluegrass By the Bay, which contains reviews and articles about shows, venues, albums, artists, and upcoming bluegrass events as well as the calendar which is reprinted here. Members can choose to access Bluegrass By the Bay online in living color. The online BBB as additional pages and access to years of back issues. |
| The original name reflects where the society was founded when it was formed in 1982. Today, members are found in the counties of Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, Alameda, San Benito and Santa Clara as well as the original Santa Cruz area, thus the name was changed in 1999 to The Northern California Bluegrass Society to reflect the membership base and area of activity. The NCBS has members all over the world. | |
