Bluegrass by the Bay

Bluegrass by the Bay (BBB) is the bi-monthly publication of the Northern California Bluegrass Society. BBB provides reviews and articles about shows, venues, recordings, artists, and upcoming bluegrass events. NCBS provides issues of BBB to NCBS members each month and makes it available at society-sponsored events. To receive the BBB, join NCBS. NCBS members who have registered on the website can find back issues online in the Members Area.

Submissions

Your contributions to the BBB are welcomed. The deadline is the 10th of the month for the next month’s issue.

Digital

Text must be either ASCII text or Microsoft Word documents.
Artwork can be *.tiff, *.jpeg, *.gif, or *.pdf format.

Digital submissions are accepted by (email) bluegrassbythebay (at) gmail (dot) com.

Paper

We accept manuscript, original photos and camera-ready artwork.

Advertising

Advertising in Bluegrass by the Bay is a great way to reach the members of the local bluegrass scene. The deadline for placing ad is the 15th of the month preceding the desired publication date. Our rates are:

NCBS Annual Elections Coming Up — Candidate Statements Due May 4

bglogoThe annual election for the Northern California Bluegrass Society Board Of Directors will be held at the Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival at Bolado Park in Tres Pinos on Saturday, August 11, 2012, 10:00am-5:00pm and by mail.

Candidate Statements are due to (Nancie Barker) nanciebar (at) msn (dot) com, co-editor of Bluegrass By The Bay magazine, by May 4, 2012, for publication in the July-August issue.

Statements are limited to 100 words and submission of a picture is optional. Information: (408) 782-5044.

Bluegrass By The Bay Returns To Publication This Month

The Northern California Bluegrass Society magazine Bluegrass By The Bay will return later this month after a short hiatus. It will be sent to NCBS Members in either printed/mailed or PDF/electronic delivery formats. The new BBB editors are Brenda Hough and Nancie Barker.

Summer BBB Now Online

The summer issue of our quarterly newsletter, Bluegrass By The Bay, is now online in our Members Area. If you’re not an NCBS member, join us to get the newsletter either online in PDF format or by mail.

Spring BBB Now Online

The first issue of Bluegrass by the Bay as a quarterly publication is the Spring 2011 issue. It’s now available online to NCBS members in the Members Area of the website. Subscribers to the print edition can expect their copies in the mail shortly.

NCBS Expands Media Services To Members As BBB Switches to Quarterly

The March issue of Bluegrass By The Bay is now online in the Members Area of the website. This is the last monthly issue of the BBB as NCBS expands media services to members. There will be no April issue of the print magazine. Beginning with the next issue in May, Bluegrass By The Bay will be published quarterly, in February, May, August, and November.
