Bluegrass by the Bay

Bluegrass by the Bay (BBB) is the monthly publication of the Northern California Bluegrass Society. BBB provides reviews and articles about shows, venues, recordings, artists, and upcoming bluegrass events, as well as an events calendar. NCBS provides issues of BBB to NCBS members each month and makes it available at society-sponsored events. To receive the BBB, join NCBS. NCBS members who have registered on the website can find back issues online in the Members Area.

Submissions

Your contributions to the BBB are welcomed. The deadline is the 10th of the month for the next month’s issue.

Digital

Text must be either ASCII text or Microsoft Word documents.
Artwork can be *.tiff, *.jpeg, *.gif, or *.pdf format.

Digital submissions are accepted by (email) bluegrassbythebay (at) gmail (dot) com.

Paper

We accept manuscript, original photos and camera-ready artwork.

Advertising

Advertising in Bluegrass by the Bay is a great way to reach the members of the local bluegrass scene. The deadline for placing ad is the 15th of the month preceding the desired publication date. Our rates are:

April BBB Now Online

The April issue of Bluegrass By The Bay is now available in PDF format online in the Members Area. You must be an NCBS member who has chosen the electronic version of the magazine, and registered on the website to access it.

March BBB Now Online

The March issue of Bluegrass by the Bay has been published to the Members Area of the website. Subscribers to the paper edition should receive theirs in the next few days.

If you’re not yet an NCBS member, please join us. Besides the Bluegrass by the Bay newsletter, members also receive discounts on many events sponsored by NCBS and our sister organizations, and help to support local bluegrass music.

February BBB Published

The February issue of Bluegrass by the Bay features an interview with Nashville Bluegrass Band mandolinist Mike Compton. Mike and the rest of NBB will be here for the RBA concert series on Feb. 13th and an SFBOT show at the Freight & Salvage on the 14th.

The PDF version can be downloaded from the Members Area of the website; subscribers to the paper edition should have theirs later this week.

January 2010 BBB Online

The new year is almost upon us and with it a new issue of Bluegrass by the Bay. NCBS members can download the PDF from the members area of the website. Printed copies are in the mail and will hopefully reach you before the first weekend of 2010.

Free Want Ad In Bluegrass By The Bay For Each NCBS Member

Each member of the Northern California Bluegrass Society can place a free want ad in Bluegrass By The Bay magazine each month. The ads are useful for informing fellow members about lessons, instruments, bands, websites and other bluegrass-related matters. Members can submit ad copy to the (BBB Editors) bluegrassbythebay (at) gmail (dot) com before the 10th of the month preceding publication.
