WELCOME To The New NCBS E-Newsletter
You are reading the newest media offering of the Northern California
Bluegrass Society for NCBS MEMBERS. We will play it by ear to see how
it works, but we plan on sending it out at least (approximately)
monthly and more frequently when there is more news.
The e-newsletter is an addition to our print/PDF magazine
“Bluegrass By The Bay” (since 1982), the NCBS Website (the
world’s oldest bluegrass website, since 1994), and the
NCBS Facebook Page (since 2010).
We hope you enjoy it!

Easy User’s Guide To The NCBS Website
The NCBS — the nation’s most active regional bluegrass organization
– has plenty of news for our members. This short, snappy e-newsletter
will bring you the highlights, but the NCBS website has
all the news. It is easy to use:
- There is a new web news story published each evening at 10:00pm.
- The most recent 8 articles appear on the front page (with a click to
recent older articles).
- Articles about all NCBS events and projects are indexed on the front page.
- The entire website is searchable, using the search box on the front page.
- The NCBS Live Music Calendar is on the front page.
- There is lots more fun stuff - check it out!
The website is designed for either a daily or weekly visit, as a
convenient way to keep up with your Society.

Always Thinkin’ At The End: Can You Hear Us Now?
In the Society’s early days, getting the news out was simple, but a
bit frustrating. News was gathered, put into magazine form, printed
and mailed third class…and after a few weeks…our members got the
exciting news about concerts and festivals. Sometimes, the “news” was
more like bluegrass “history” as the mailed magazine arrived too late.
Over the years, new technologies have made this process more timely,
more flexible, and more useful. We hope this latest addition will have
value to you.
On behalf of all the NCBS volunteers who labor in the
media vineyard, thanks for taking time out out of your busy life to
read about local bluegrass! We welcome your ideas and suggestions…mh
