Boulder Creek Bluegrass & Old Timey Festivals

Put on by Eric & Barbra Burman and sponsored by the NCBS, the Brookdale Bluegrass Festivals were wintertime indoor festivals held between 1999 and 2009 at the now-closed Brookdale Lodge . The Winter 2009 Festival was held in Bonny Doon. The festivals are now held in Boulder Creek with the main stage at Scopazzi’s Restaurant.  The events are now known as the Boulder Creek Bluegrass & Old Timey Festival and is held three times each year, in March, July, and December. Brookdale Bluegrass Announces Performance Schedule For Costanoa Winterfest

Brookdale Bluegrass has announced the schedule for the December 12-13, 2014 Costanoa Winterfest. A variety of accomodations are available at the Costanoa Lodge and Campground, on the coast off Highway One, halfway between Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz.

Brookdale Bluegrass’ Costanoa Wintergrass 2014 Line-Up Is Announced

brookdale-winter-fest-14-posterThis winter’s Brookdale Bluegrass gathering, now known as Costanoa Wintergrass 2014, will be held Friday-Saturday, December 12-13 at Costanoa Lodge & Campground near Pesacadero.

The Northern California Bluegrass Society welcomes this popular, long-running (since 1998) “cabin fever” bluegrass event.

The Saturday line-up has been announced: The Naked Bootleggers, Bluegrass Roundup, Sugar By The Pound, and the Rainy Day Ramblers, along with the host Brookdale Bluegrass Band.

Peg Leg Reza & Blue Shoes has just been added to the line-up, replacing Willie Tea Taylor.

Friday evening (free admission) will be devoted exclusively to bluegrass jamming. There will be a banjo workshop on Saturday morning.

A variety of lodging and camping options are available onsite.

Winter Brookdale Festival To Feature Jamming December 12, Band Performances December 13

The 2014 Winter Brookdale Bluegrass Festival will feature free jam sessions on Friday evening, December 12, followed by a full day of band performances on Saturday, December 13. The festival will be held at the Costanoa Lodge & Campground near the tiny coastal community of Pescadero, on Highway 1, halfway between Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz.

The twice-yearly gathering has been held since 1998, first at the Brookdale Lodge, then in downtown Boulder Creek, and now on the coast at Costanoa. NCBS welcomes this event, which is presented by Brookdale Bluegrass.

The Spring 2015 Brookdale Bluegrass Festival will be held March 6-8 at Costanoa, preceded by an instructional jam camp taught by Pete Wernick March 3-6.

Brookdale Bluegrass Confirms Dates For Winter & Spring Festivals At Costanoa Lodge

Brookdale Bluegrass has announced confirmed dates for both the winter and spring festivals to be held at Costanoa Lodge near Pescadero.

Winter: December 12-13, 2014

Spring: March 6-8, 2015 (note change in date from earlier announcement).
