Boulder Creek Bluegrass & Old Timey Festivals

Put on by Eric & Barbra Burman and sponsored by the NCBS, the Brookdale Bluegrass Festivals were wintertime indoor festivals held between 1999 and 2009 at the now-closed Brookdale Lodge . The Winter 2009 Festival was held in Bonny Doon. The festivals are now held in Boulder Creek with the main stage at Scopazzi’s Restaurant.  The events are now known as the Boulder Creek Bluegrass & Old Timey Festival and is held three times each year, in March, July, and December. Planning Is Underway For NCBS-Welcomed Boulder Creek Bluegrass & Old Timey Festival

The Northern California Bluegrass Society will welcome the return of the July Boulder Creek Bluegrass & Old Timey Festival, to be presented by Eric Burman & Brookdale Bluegrass in early July. Planning for the event is now underway.

All You Need To Know To Go To The Brookdale Festival At Costanoa This Weekend

The Festival: The NEW Brookdale Bluegrass & Old Timey Festival At Costanoa continues the Brookdale festival tradition that dates back to 1998 at the old Brookdale Lodge. The 2013 event will be held at Costanoa Lodge just off of Highway One, near Pescadero in Coastside San Mateo County. The festival will be held on Friday-Saturday, March 8-9, and like all past Brookdale events, is welcomed by the NCBS!

Tickets: Advance Tickets Sales will end early Friday morning. Tickets will be available at the door beginning Friday afternoon.  The festival is not sold out; however, sales are excellent and it is possible that the only type of ticket that will be available for sale late in the day on Saturday will be  standing room only tickets, so early arrival and purchase is recommended. Ticket Prices at the door will be: Friday — $30, Saturday — $40.

From The San Francisco Bay Area: Go west on Highway 92 to Half Moon Bay, then left (south) on Highway 1 for 25 miles. From Santa Cruz: Go north on Highway 1 for 25 miles.

Costanoa Lodge is south of the town of Pescadero, halfway between Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz, off the east side of Highway 1. The address is 2001 Rossi Road, Pescadero, CA 94060.

Food, Drink, Services: The high-end lodge offers a nice restaurant and bar and a camp store for your convenience. The nearby town of Pescadero has several restaurants and stores, plus a gas station.

Non-Bluegrass Activities: Coastal access, hiking, horseback riding, and a beautiful natural setting.

New, But Old Coastside Festival Welcomed By NCBS This Weekend

A brand new festival with a long history will come to Coastside San Mateo County this weekend. The Brookdale Bluegrass & Old Timey Festival At Costanoa will be presented by Eric Burman and Brookdale Bluegrass and will be welcomed by the Northern California Bluegrass Society.

The festival runs the late afternoon and evening of Friday, March 8 and and all day on Saturday, March 9.

The new event continues a long line of events that were first held in 1998 at the now-closed Brookdale Lodge in Brookdale and then eventually moved a mile north to downtown Boulder Creek. All Brookdale events over the years have been supported by NCBS.

The new venue will feature a beautiful location with excellent lodging and camping facilities. The Costanoa Lodge is just off of Highway One halfway between Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz, and is easily accessible from the Bay Area and Monterey Bay Areas.

Brookdale Bluegrass Moves To Coast For March 8-9 Festival

costanoa-mapBrookdale Bluegrass is moving its spring gathering out of the San Lorenzo Valley to Coastside San Mateo County for the first time on Friday-Saturday, March 8-9, 2013.

The Northern California Bluegrass Society-welcomed event, the Brookdale Bluegrass & Old Timey Festival At Costanoa, will be held  at the Costanoa Lodge, near the town of Pescadero, halfway between Half Moon Bay & Santa Cruz, on Highway One.

The long-running Brookdale Bluegrass Festival, first held at the now-closed Brookdale Lodge in 1998 and then moved to nearby downtown Boulder Creek, will be held at a new location in Coastside San Mateo County.
