Boulder Creek Bluegrass & Old Timey Festivals

Put on by Eric & Barbra Burman and sponsored by the NCBS, the Brookdale Bluegrass Festivals were wintertime indoor festivals held between 1999 and 2009 at the now-closed Brookdale Lodge . The Winter 2009 Festival was held in Bonny Doon. The festivals are now held in Boulder Creek with the main stage at Scopazzi’s Restaurant.  The events are now known as the Boulder Creek Bluegrass & Old Timey Festival and is held three times each year, in March, July, and December. Brookdale Bluegrass Announces Initial Line-Up For March 6-8, 2015 Festival

Brookdale Bluegrass has announced that the line-up for the March 6-8, 2015 Brookdale Bluegrass Festival will include Houston Jones, Sourdough Slim, Sugar By The Pound, Jean Butterfield, BanjerDan, and the Brookdale Bluegrass Band. More bands will be added. The festival will be held at The Great Room in the Santa Cruz Mountains between Soquel and Los Gatos. More information will be available soon. The Northern California Bluegrass Society welcomes this event.

Spring Brookdale Festival Moves From Costanoa, Now Set For The Great Room

The Brookdale Bluegrass Festivals have been held multiple times each year in the greater Santa Cruz area after being launched in 1998 at the old Brookdale Lodge. These events have most recently been held at the Costanoa Lodge near Pescadero. Now Brookdale Bluegrass has announced new a location for the spring 2015 festival.

The Spring Brookdale Bluegrass Festival will be held March 6-8 at The Great Room in the Santa Cruz Mountains (between Los Gatos and Soquel).

The previously-announced Pete Wernick Jam Camp will not be held this year.

All Brookdale events are welcomed by the Northern California Bluegrass Society.

Spring Brookdale Bluegrass Festival Set For Santa Cruz Mountains

Brookdale Bluegrass has announced that the Spring 2015 Brookdale Bluegrass Festival will be held at a new location in the Santa Cruz Mountains March 6-8. This event has been most recently held in Pescadero.

The NCBS has welcomed all Brookdale events since the festival was launched in 1998. More information will be available soon.

Cabin Fever Festival Fun: The annual (since 1998) winter Brookdale Bluegrass gathering offers the chance to enjoy the fun of a summer festival amidst the seasonal rains in Northern California. Indoor performances and jams will help chase away the December bluegrass blues! The weekend event is welcomed by the Northern California Bluegrass Society.

Tickets: Plenty will be available Online in advance for $30 and at the door for $35.

Directions:

From The San Francisco Bay Area: Go west on Highway 92 to Half Moon Bay, then left (south) on Highway 1 for 25 miles. From Santa Cruz: Go north on Highway 1 for 25 miles.

Costanoa Lodge is south of the town of Pescadero, halfway between Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz, off the east side of Highway 1. The address is 2001 Rossi Road, Pescadero, CA 94060.

Weather: This is an indoor festival.  Outside: Partly Cloudy. FRIDAY NIGHT: Low 44. SATURDAY:  High 60, Low 44.

Services: Costanoa offers a nice restaurant and bar and a camp store for your convenience. The nearby town of Pescadero has several restaurants and stores, plus a gas station. The Highway 1 Brewing Co. is a few miles up Highway 1 from Costanoa.

Brookdale Bluegrass will bring The Naked Bootleggers, The Rainy Day Ramblers, Blue Shoes, and Bluegrass Roundup among other bands to Costanoa Lodge & Campground near Pescadero on December 12-13.

The Costanoa Winterfest 2014 will feature jamming on an admission-free Friday evening and band performances and workshops on Saturday.
