Brookdale Bluegrass Festivals

Put on by Eric & Barbra Burman and sponsored by the NCBS, the Brookdale Bluegrass Festivals are wintertime indoor festivals held between 1999 and 2009 at the Brookdale Lodge (now known as the Brookdale Inn and Spa). The Winter 2009 Festival has a new venue in Bonny Doon. The location for festivals in 2010 and beyond will be announced. For details see the festival website at http://www.brookdalebluegrass.com.

Eric Burman Announces Bands For July NCBS Boulder Creek Bluegrass & Old Timey Festival

Host & Booker Eric  Burman has announced the bands for the first-ever SUMMER Boulder Creek Bluegrass & Old Timey Festival, building on the successful March event and continuing the 1999-2009 NCBS Brookdale Bluegrass tradition.

The bands for the July 16-18, 2010 event:

Regina Bartlett, 27strings, Heathen Hill, Julio In Glasses, Still Searchin’, Faux Renwah, Geese In The Bog, Jean Butterfield, Page Brownton & Sidetrack, Research & Development, Rainy Escobar, Eric Burman Band, Blue Shoes, Dam Dave & The Hot Dam Band, plus many more bands to be announced.

For more information, see the official festival website. The charming mountain community of Boulder Creek is 11 miles north of Santa Cruz on Highway 9 and about a mile north of the festival’s longtime original venue, The Brookdale Lodge.

First-Ever Summer NCBS Boulder Creek Bluegrass & Old Time Festival Announced

Our hosts, Eric & Barbra Burman, have announced that there will be a first-ever SUMMER NCBS Boulder Creek Bluegrass & Old Time Festival the third weekend of July, 2010. Details soon on this website. The first BCBOT, which was held in March of this year, continued the 1999-2009 tradition of the NCBS Brookdale Bluegrass Festivals.

The first Boulder Creek Bluegrass & Old Timey Festival, presented by Eric & Barbra Burman and sponsored by NCBS, was held March 5-7, 2010 and continued the 1999-2009 Brookdale Bluegrass tradition. All You Need To Know To Go To The NCBS Boulder Creek Bluegrass & Old Timey Festival This Weekend

Eric & Barbra Burman welcome us to the first NCBS Boulder Creek Bluegrass & Old Timey Festival, which continues the NCBS Brookdale Bluegrass tradition (1999-2009).  Here is all you need to know to go this weekend, March 5-7, 2010:

The Festival: Two and a half days of music in various venues in the small mountain community of Boulder Creek, 12 miles north of Santa Cruz and about a mile north of the Brookdale Lodge on Highway 9 in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Tickets: Plenty available at Festival Headquarters – Scopazzi’s Restaurant, or online. Online tickets are $20 for Friday or Saturday, and $35 for a weekend pass. $5 more at the door.  Sunday is a FREE day.

Lodging: At various Boulder Creek and Brookdale hotels & motels, including special festival discounts at the Brookdale Inn & Spa (Brookdale - no services other than room rental, no festival activities) and the Merrybrook Lodge (Boulder Creek).

Food: At various Boulder Creek restaurants, including festival venues.
