The NCBS Boulder Creek Bluegrass & Old-Timey Festival will be held July 15-17, 2011 in downtown Boulder Creek, 11 miles north of Santa Cruz on Highway 9 in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Eric Burman and his hard-working Brookdale Bluegrass crew will be there to greet us! Ya’ll come!

The NCBS Boulder Creek Summer Bluegrass & Old Timey Festival will be held Friday-Sunday, July 15-17 at easily walkable venues in the small, charming mountain community of Boulder Creek, CA. It continues the beloved 1998-2009 Brookdale Bluegrass tradition.

The second NCBS Summer Boulder Creek Bluegrass & Old Timey Festival will be held July 15-17.

The former Brookdale Bluegrass Festival has moved into town — big time. The festival lost its original venue at the Brookdale Lodge but has gained a coterie of fun venues in the nearby town of Boulder Creek.

The twice-yearly event — held since 1998 — is now held three times each year. Thanks to the Boulder Creek Press-Banner for the paper’s excellent photo coverage of last year’s inaugural summer outing!

The NCBS Summer Boulder Creek Bluegrass & Old Timey Festival has been set for July 15-17, 2011 (note that Sunday performances have been added) at venues in the Santa Cruz Mountains community of Boulder Creek.  Eric Burman and the merry Brookdale volunteers will welcome us to only the second BCBOT summer festival. The other, long-running Boulder Creek gatherings are held in March and December.

The BCBOT festivals were known as the “Brookdale Bluegrass Festivals” when they were held  each winter and spring at the original venue (1998-2009). The new downtown location is less than a mile north on Highway 9.

The summer 2011 line-up will include Page Brownton & Sidetrack, Common Cents, Jean Butterfield, High Tone Sinners, & Heathen Hill. More acts will be announced shortly on this website.

Update: The festival has been expanded to include Sunday, July 17 —  making it a 3-day gathering.

The popularity of the two original annual Santa Cruz Mountain festivals has led to the addition of this third summer festival. The other Boulder Creek BOT gatherings are held the second weekend of March and the first weekend of December. The festivals were once known as the Brookdale Bluegrass Festivals when they were held  at the old venue (one mile south of Boulder Creek) between 1998 and 2009.
