The NCBS-sponsored Jake’s Brown Barn Bluegrass Festival will welcome Brown Barn favorite Windy Hill back to its stage the second weekend of October. The Portola Valley-based traditional bluegrass band has performed at festivals throughout California and has won major bluegrass band contests across the West. The October 7-9, 2011 festival in Gilroy will be held one month later and three miles south of its old location.

Bands wishing to perform as part of the Friday Open Mike Show at the NCBS-sponsored Jake’s Brown Barn Bluegrass Festival should contact Melissa Blas, who is now booking. The 6:00-10:00pm open mike program will open the October 7-9, 2011 festival at the Historic Franklin Ranch, Gilroy. UPDATE: The Oak Grove Bluegrass Band from Walnut Creek will replace Savannah Blue at 10:00am on Saturday morning.
