This weekend, July 18-20, NCBS favorites Bean Creek & Harmony Grits will be part of a series of filmed performances from the 2014 Santa Cruz Bluegrass Fair that will run throughout the month of July on Berkeley Community Television. The concert films will also appear on the web. The one hour shows will run three times each weekend on Channel 28 (Saturdays, 8:00pm, Sundays, 4:00pm, Mondays, 8:00pm). The concert programs were filmed and produced by program host Beebee Simmons.

The free annual bluegrass fair is presented by the Northern California Bluegrass Society/Santa Cruz Bluegrass Society at the Duck Pond Stage in San Lorenzo Park in early May each year as the kickoff of the outdoor bluegrass season.

The Eddie DuCommun Band will be featured this weekend, July 11-13, as part of a series of performances from the 2014 Santa Cruz Bluegrass Fair that will run throughout the month of July on Berkeley Community Television. santa-cruz-city-limit-billboardDirections: From Highway 17, continue on Ocean Street into Santa Cruz, past Water Street, then right into the Santa Cruz County Courthouse parking lot, to left of building, park and walk to Duck Pond Stage behind the Lawn Bowling Courts. Alternate Parking on the streets surrounding the park or in downtown Santa Cruz (and cross the pedestrian bridge into the park).

NCBS will welcome Della Mae to a Redwood Bluegrass Associates concert in Mountain View on the evening of May 2 — the perfect way to end a Great Day Of Bluegrass! Showtime is 7:30pm.

BLUEGRASS FAIR — AFTERNOON

Noon-6:00pm — Santa Cruz Bluegrass Fair, Duck Pond Stage, San Lorenzo Park, Santa Cruz.

FREE afternoon of music in the park presented by the Northern California Bluegrass Society/Santa Cruz Bluegrass Society, with the True Life Troubadours, The Naked Bootleggers, Harmony Grits, The Down Beets, and the Eddie DuCommun Band. Raffle, food, spring sun, grass, trees, swimming ducks, and all of your friends. The 29th annual gathering is a rite of spring that will kick off the outdoor bluegrass season in Northern California.

BLUEGRASS CONCERT — EVENING

7:30pm — Della Mae Concert, First Presbyterian Church Of Mountain View, Mountain View.

Boston’s favorite all-women bluegrass band comes to town in a Redwood Bluegrass Associates show that will wrap-up the current RBA season. NCBS welcomes this concert. Advance tickets are recommended. Pie and coffee will be served. Open Jam at 5:00pm.
