Place: Duck Pond Stage, San Lorenzo Park, 134 Dakota Avenue, next to the courthouse in Santa Cruz.

Cost: FREE.

Weather: Nice! Sunny. High 61, Low 56.

Alternate Parking on the streets surrounding the park or in downtown Santa Cruz (and cross the pedestrian bridge into the park).

The True Life Troubadours (Boulder Creek) will perform at the historic FREE 30th Annual Santa Cruz Bluegrass Fair on Saturday, May 14, 2016. The event is the longest-running presentation of the Northern California Bluegrass Society/Santa Cruz Bluegrass Society. The Noon-6:00pm concert in the park is also the oldest outdoor music event in Santa Cruz.

The relaxed, enjoyable Rite of Spring is held at the Duck Pond Stage in San Lorenzo Park next to the courthouse. Good food and a raffle with great prizes will be available. Bring a blanket or chair for lawn seating. Ona Stewart heads the Society committee that organizes the event.

The Noon-6:00pm concert in the park is the oldest outdoor music event in Santa Cruz and the oldest Society event.

The longtime home for the relaxed afternoon of music and friends is the Duck Pond Stage in San Lorenzo Park (next to the courthouse in Santa Cruz). Food and a raffle will be available. Bring a blanket or chair for lawn seating.

This Rite Of Spring is the traditional opener of the outdoor bluegrass season. And remember — all of your friends will be there!
