The Harmony Grits will return to the stage of the Santa Cruz Bluegrass Fair on Saturday, May 3, 2014.

The FREE, beloved Rite of Spring will begin at Noon at the Duck Pond Stage in San Lorenzo Park (next to the courthouse) in Santa Cruz.

The fair is the longest-running Northern California Bluegrass Society/Santa Cruz Bluegrass Society event.

Also on the bill: The Lampel Brothers With Jim Lewin, The Naked Bootleggers, and Bean Creek.

A raffle will offer tickets to the season’s bluegrass festivals and concerts, plus other great prizes. The NCBS Information Booth will have the details on live bluegrass music throughout the summer. Organic food will be available.

The FREE NCBS/SCBS Santa Cruz Bluegrass Fair on Saturday, May 3 will present Northern California’s 2014 Best Bluegrass Band, the award-winning Bean Creek of Santa Cruz.

This is the 29th year for the fair that celebrates both springtime in Santa Cruz and the start of the outdoor California bluegrass season. The music is brought to you by the volunteers of the Northern California Bluegrass Society/Santa Cruz Bluegrass Society.

The Lampel Brothers With Jim Lewin, The Harmony Grits, and The Naked Bootleggers will round out the afternoon program.

The afternoon of music starts at Noon at the Duck Pond Stage in San Lorenzo Park, 137 Dakota Avenue (near the Santa Cruz courthouse off Ocean Street). A raffle with summer festival tickets and other great prizes and (new!) vendors serving organic food will help make a fun, relaxing day in the park.

The FREE concert in the park has been held the first Saturday of May since 1986 by the Northern California Bluegrass Society/Santa Cruz Bluegrass Society. Joining the ‘Boots on the bill this year will be The Lampel Brothers With Jim Lewin, The Harmony Grits, and Bean Creek.

Bring a picnic and your family and friends! The afternoon of music starts at Noon at the Duck Pond Stage in San Lorenzo Park, at 137 Dakota Avenue (near the Santa Cruz courthouse).
