The benefit for the Northern California Bluegrass Society will be held at Bolado Park in Tres Pinos, 7 miles south of Hollister on Highway 25.

Molly Tuttle & A. J. Lee

Redwood Bluegrass Associates will present The Tuttles With A. J. Lee in concert this Saturday evening, May 18 at the First Presbyterian Church Of Mountain View.

The concert will begin at 7:30pm, with an open jam led by Ed Cirimelli starting at 5:00pm. Food and drink will be available at the show (however, there will not be a benefit BBQ dinner to conclude the season, as in the past).

The program will conclude the 2012-2013 RBA season, which is welcomed by the Northern California Bluegrass Society. The Fall-Winter-Spring series will return in October.

Bruce Edmundson

Bruce Edmundson of Mountain View has been named to fill the open seat on the Northern California Bluegrass Society Board Of Directors. He will serve until elections are held in August at the Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival.

He previously served on the board and has been the first “off board” treasurer in Society history during the 2012-2013 term — until now.

He has been an active bluegrass music volunteer with NCBS/SCBS and Redwood Bluegrass Associates for decades.

It’s the  last show of the season and a CD release celebration! The Tuttles With A. J. Lee are our hometown heroes. RBA has been presenting these talented teens since they were pre-teens, and have delighted in watching them grow up on stage. They long ago surpassed the “pretty great for kids” handle; this is a truly exceptional band.

Since last appearing on the RBA stage, Molly won the Chris Austin Songwriting Contest at Merlefest with her original composition “Walden,” and Molly and Jack were runners-up in the Prairie Home Companion duet contest. A.J. Lee was featured in a Mother Jones magazine article titled, “Could This Kid Be the Next Alison Krauss?” and Jack was awarded a Lifetime Membership by the California Bluegrass Association.

The Tuttles with A.J. Lee are: Molly Tuttle (19) - vocals, guitar, banjo; A.J. Lee (14) - vocals, mandolin; Sullivan Tuttle (16) - guitar; Michael Tuttle (14) - mandolin; and Jack Tuttle (ageless) - acoustic bass, fiddle, vocals.
