I am writing not to solicit, but to inform you that at long last there will be a Honky Tonk opening in San Francisco, albeit for one night a week to start. It is not a San Francisco "take" on a roadhouse or an homage to honky tonks: it is a honky tonk. Good country music, dancing and incredible drink specials. But most important, good down home hospitality.

Twang! Honky Tonk will be starting Thursday, March 24 from 5-2 and running every Thursday afterwards. It will be held upstairs at Fiddler's Green Irish Pub where Columbus Avenue meets Fisherman's Wharf. There will be a five dollar cover charge, but that cover gets you $2 Lone Star longnecks, $3 Shots of Jim Beam, and $3 shots of 100% Blue Agave Tequila, plus great deals on Bulleit Bourbon and other spirits. There will be classic and contemporary country music played all night and there is a dance floor. Although the dance floor is fine for two-stepping, we are not able to accommodate large groups of line dancers at this time.

If you know of any of your fellow country music fans who might be interested, feel free to forward this email. You can visit http://www.twanghonkytonk.com for more information and directions. If all goes well, I plan on holding a Bluegrass dedicated evening before long.

Feel free to bring any club memorabilia, I will hang it on the wall with pride.

With warmest regards,

Paul Hayward
http://www.twanghonkytonk.com
