Evo Bluestein
Autoharp Workshop, Folk Style, All Levels Welcome!

@ The Fifth String
 Sunday, March 14th 2010 1pm-3pm

The Fifth String will be hosting an autoharp workshop with instructor, Evo Bluestein.  The worshop is $40 and seats are limited.  Sign up at the Fifth String, call or come in to reserve your spot.  Only accepting cash or check.  This class is appropriate for anyone who wishes to learn autoharp: folk and bluegrass enthusiasts, teachers, and others who like to sing with adults and children. This class will improve your  technique, advance your playing skills and expand your repertoire. Evo masterfully accomodates varying skill levels–addressing the needs and interests of different students.  Topics will  include rhythm-accompaniment styles, melody, drag notes, and song and dance tune repertoire. Songsheets from Evo's book Autoharp in Four Easy Steps (Mel Bay 99187bcd) will also be  used.

   Instructor: Evo Bluestein

Evo Bluestein is known for his music on many instruments but he has a special connection to the autoharp. Perhaps the highest recognition of this is his 2009 induction into the Autoharp Hall  of Fame. His style of playing is greatly influenced by the late autoharp master Kilby Snow and Evo is known as the foremost player of this oldtime style. Evo's books and dvds “Autoharp in Four Easy  Steps” are perhaps the most popular instruction methods available today. Evo has developed two successful and popular  brands of autoharp, “The Evoharp” and the ¾ sized “Sparrowharp.” In  addition to helping many adults learn music on the autoharp over many years, children in numerous schools have learned to play and sing using the autoharp in programs that Evo has  implemented. For more details on any of these aspects of Evo’s activities, please visitevobluestein.com [1].
