The eclectic programming on KZSU-Stanford will be negatively affected by signal inference if a pending FCC signal alteration is approved. This station's programming includes bluegrass and related music genres. The former KUSF 90.3 FM, whose broadcast frequency was recently acquired by CPRN, a shell company of USC, has filed to move their transmitter and increase broadcast power. This change will diminish KZSU's effective broadcast range, impacting listeners in San Francisco and the East Bay, among others.

A petition is available to couner this proposal:

More information:

Dear KZSU listener -

Sorry if you've already been contacted..

I know you're busy, but I’m reaching out to you because KZSU needs your help. Our signal is being threatened in the Bay Area, and we need your help to stop it.

The Classical Public Radio Network (CPRN), the corporation (it's commercial, not pubic, despite it's name) that bought out KUSF, has submitted an application with the FCC to move and elevate their transmitter. If this application is approved, we (KZSU) will lose our signal in the East Bay, North Bay, and San Francisco, and will likely experience interference in parts of San Bruno and Daly City.

We need you to express your concerns and to encourage your clientele to express their concerns to the FCC before it’s too late! KZSU will file an objection against the proposal with the FCC, and we need help from our community to show the FCC how the KUSF move will hurt us. There is hope. But we have to act fast.  Your letter needs to be received by next Friday, April 15.
