Ed Helms (Andy Bernard) — a big-time bluegrass fan and musician — has helped launch a five-day bluegrass fest at West Hollywood club Largo called The Los Angeles Bluegrass Situation, which features locals Gillian Welch, Dave Rawlings and The Infamous Stringdusters, as well as actor/comedian/banjo whiz Steve Martin, among others.

Helms told AOL's Spinner.com that the fest, scheduled for today through Monday, grew out of his own experiences at bluegrass fests.

“They're such a great community-building event and there's just nothing like that here in L.A.,” he said. “But I know that there are bluegrass fans and I know there's kind of a community waiting to gel.”
