Rumor has it that there’s a great big free roots music festival called
Hardly Strictly Bluegrass going on in Golden Gate Park the same weekend.
Thanks to that banjo-pickin’ benefactor, Warren Hellman, San Francisco
becomes the epicenter of a mighty musical quake every October. Our
little gathering is a tribute to the festival and a way to showcase a
whole lot of local talent in a sightly more intimate setting than
Speedway Meadows. Mostly it’s a party for musicians and their fans and
friends – the perfect way to celebrate our wonderful local music community.
Our theme for this year’s HSAG is “Yield to Total Elation.” That’s
right, we’re throwing caution to the wind in our quest for some kind of
musical nirvana. We’re not exactly sure what we’re looking for, but it’s
not like Kurt Cobain grunge nirvana. No, it’s more like the kind of fun
we had at last year’s proceedings.
Check out this audio slideshow to see what we’re talking about.

So yield to at least partial elation and join us at the Velo Rouge Café
for a party-and-a-half with your friends and neighbors. If you haven’t
been to one of our VRC shows you’re in for a treat. Ask anyone who’s
been and they’ll tell you - it’s magic. Don’t know how it happens, we
don’t plan it, but you’re going to hear and see some stuff that just
blows you away. It’s all about fun and sharing and a lot of mutual
admiration and respect among the musicians and the audience.
Lest ye forget, our monthly jam is coming up, as well as a return of the
