KALW'S ON-AIR FOLK FESTIVAL!

JOIN US ON 91.7 THIS COMING SATURDAY, November 13th, for
our semi-annual folk festival of the airwaves!  It's five
hours of continuous live music, showcasing some of the Bay
Area's local, homegrown musical talent.

Here's the line-up:

3:00 p.m.  LUCY WAINWRIGHT ROCHE, the young up-and-coming
singer-songwriter and daughter of Loudon Wainwright III and
Suzzy Roche.  She's just released her first full-length CD
recording with her heartfelt original songs, a duet with
This American Life host Ira Glass (yes, he can carry a
tune), and a gorgeous cover of Paul Simon's “America.”

4:00 p.m.  TRISKELA, the Bay Area neo-Celtic harp trio led
by Diana Stork with two of her former students, Portia Diwa
and Shawna Spiteri.  They'll perform songs from their new
debut recording, “Voice of Tara.”

5:00 p.m.  GUITARISTS ROUND-ROBIN–five Bay Area fingerstyle
guitarists will do an instrumental song swap–Teja Gerken,
Florante Aguilar, Dale Miller, Pete Madsen, and Az Samad.

6:30 p.m.  WINDY HILL began several years ago in Ft.
Collins, CO, playing traditional bluegrass summarized in
their motto “Hammer Down & Keep It Nailed.” They are: Ryan
Breen (banjo), Henry Warde (mandolin), Yoseff Tucker
(guitar), Ella Naiman (fiddle), and Kyle McCabe (bass).

7:15 p.m.  DARK HOLLOW has been a fixture on the Northern
California bluegrass scene for more than a decade with
their fun-loving, high-energy shows — and now a new
recording. They are: John Kornhauser (guitar), Alan Bond
(mandolin), Larry Cohea (banjo), Mark Wardenburg (fiddle),
and Louise Mintun (bass).

Hope you can listen for all or part of our folk
extravaganza!  Those of you out of our signal area can
listen on-line.  We have a link to KALW's audio stream at
