Howdy Y'all!

Springtime is in full swing and we have a heap of gigs coming up this summer!  More on that later.

For now, what are y'all doing tomorrow night?  Any plans?  If not, Mountain Drive is pleased to announce that we'll be playing our first ever show at Joe's Bar in Boulder Creek onFriday, May 14th, 2010!  Joe's Bar is located at 13118 Highway 9 in Boulder Creek.  Mountain Drive will be taking the “stage” from 8:30 - 11:30 PM.  A good time is guaranteed for all!

And, since we have your attention, how about a few Summer festival announcements?  Mark your calendars now, folks!  Don't worry, we'll send reminders later on this summer, but both festivals are out of town and it's a good idea to start planning now if you hope to attend.

We're excited to announce that we've been invited back to the Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival which is being held in Bolado Park just south of Hollister from August 13-15th, 2010!  The schedule is not set in stone yet, but we've been told that Mountain Drive will take the stage Friday evening.  Last year was a hoot, and this year should be just as much fun–if not more!  This is a great local festival with excellent jamming, so come on down!  More information here: http://www.scbs.org/events/gof/.

Our biggest news this year so far (aside from the birth of our banjo picker Jered's firstborn son Ryder, of course!) is that we'll be playing the Vern's Stage at the 35th Annual Father's Day Bluegrass Festival in Grass Valley, California.  The Father's Day Festival runs fromJune 17th-20th, 2010

The Vern's Stage, named for the “Father of California Bluegrass Music” Vern Williams, is the premiere venue for California bluegrass bands in the State!  To say that we are pleased to be performing on this stage is an understatement.  We're beyond stoked!

We know it's a far drive, and a little on the pricey side, but if you're a picker or a die-hard fan of bluegrass music, you won't want to miss this festival!  It would be nice to see some of our local fans and picking buddies out there supporting the Santa Cruz bluegrass scene.  More on the Father's Day Festival and the Vern's Stage here: http://www.fathersdayfestival.com.

I guess that's it for now folks.  Hope to see you at Joe's Bar tomorrow night…if not, hopefully you can make it out to one of our festival appearances this Summer.

As always, we wouldn't exist without your support, so thank you!  Enjoy the sunshine, and we'll see you on down the road.

Sincerely,
The Boys of Mountain Drive
