On Tuesday, July 21st, at 9:30 p.m., Larry Carlin’s Bluegrass Showcase will make its debut at the Sleeping Lady Café (formerly Café Amsterdam) in downtown Fairfax on July 21st. Inspired by and based on the format of Tom Lucas’s Monday night Taco Jam  at the Baja Taqueria in Oakland, on the third Tuesday of each month individual pickers will be invited to be part of the house band for the evening. The showcase promises to be a lot of fun, and some notable guest artist will be on hand from time to time.

The players for the first showcase will be David Thom (The David Thom Band) on mandolin, Chris Smith (The Mighty Crows) on guitar, Chris Caputo on banjo, Paul Shelasky (Blue & Lonesome, The David Thom Band) on fiddle, and Larry Carlin(Wild Blue, Keystone Crossing) on bass.

There is no cover charge for this event and the venue offers great food and drink at reasonable prices. Children are welcome.
