Some folks already know, but I’m going to be starting a new festival next year. It will be held in Susanville, California the week after Grass Valley: June 25-27. Would like to have spread things out a bit, but unfortunately there’s not a lot of available weekends over the course of the summer, and having the event when kids are out of school is an absolute must. The nice thing for some folks will be the ability to go from one event to the next. You will be able to set up on the fairground starting at 12 noon on Tuesday, June 22nd.

The festival will be held at the fairground in Susanville. It’s a very nice facility that is flat, large enough to get away from the stage, but small enough that it’s not a pain to get back to the stage. There’s a lot of shaded areas for camping (RV and tent) and there are at least 78 hook-up sites. The seating area for the stage is surrounded by huge trees and is completely shaded all day. If you want to stay in a hotel there are several available, and the Super 8 sits at the fairground entrance and is within easy walking distance of the grounds.

Will Rogers (Lance Brown) will be the MC for both Friday and Saturday evenings and will do stage shows each night. Look him up on YouTube, or Google him…he’s awesome. John Senior will be doing the sound (he’s awesome too). 

Other attractions will include: 1) A large, air conditioned room for the quilters with the stage music piped in so they can still listen while they make things 2) A car show on Saturday featuring two different car clubs 3) A dance on either Friday or Saturday night 4) Kids program during the day 5) A good number of craft vendors.

For this event pets are allowed anywhere except the audience area. All I ask is that you keep them under control and clean up after them. Camping will be $10/night (includes hook-ups…first come/first serve). Advance sale tickets for adults will be $30 for the entire event or $45 at the gate. Advance sale tickets for teens will be $10 for the event or $20 at the gate. Kids 12 and under will be free with a paid adult. 
When I get the website up and running I’ll let you know, and there will be plenty of advertising in various locations as things move along. My intention is to have a fun, low-key event centered around solid entertainment while providing additional activities for all.
