The Old Grove Festival returns to the beautiful natural amphitheater located in the heart of Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve for its fifth season. The Old Grove Festival features an outstanding variety of musical productions that help Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods raise funds to support their educational and stewardship programs, as well as continued advocacy for ALL State Parks.

This year's two-day festival kicks off with a “Hoedown in the Redwoods” on Friday September 24th starring the queen of bluegrass, Laurie Lewis and the Right Hands, followed by “Aloha in the Grove” with the incomparable Hawaiian slack key master, Ledward Kaapana on Saturday September 25th.  Also at noon on Saturday September 25th the festival will present the Russian River Revue, which features several of West Sonoma County’s overly-talented musicians. There will also be a “Great Hawaiian Feast” on Saturday evening in the theatre featuring BBQ pig and all the fixings. (A vegetarian option will be available.) Food and beverages (including a wine bar) will be available for sale at the concerts.  Parking is limited. Carpooling is encouraged. The theatre is about a ¾ mile walk from most parking locations. Allow extra time. Please bring a flashlight and warm clothes. Shuttle service and drop off accommodations will be provided for those in need.

Laurie Lewis is known as one of the preeminent bluegrass and Americana artists of our time and has been called a great singer, terrific fiddle player, fine songwriter, and one very good band leader.  Laurie Lewis and Tom Rozum have recorded 12 albums and performed around the globe since forming a musical partnership in 1986. These Grammy-nominated artists are widely regarded as among the leading lights of modern bluegrass and are highly-prized by their peers and their fans alike.

Ledward Kaapana
Incomparable Hawaiian Slack Key (Aloha in the Grove)

The year 2010 marks Led Kaapana's forty-seventh year as a professional musician. The incomparable slack key master is a multiple Grammy-winner who has collaborated onstage with a dazzling list of musicians including Alison Krauss, Sonny Landreth, Chet Atkins, Leo Kotke, Taj Mahal, Ry Cooder and Tal Farlow to name a few.  Led’s fret board technique and soaring vocals are unique and legendary.
