The Summer Take the Stage Showcase will be 7pm, Tues, Aug 25…at the new Freight & Salvage Coffeehouse.  Our show will be your first opportunity to see the new Freight, so come on down.  We are showcasing the folks who have been working with Jim Nunally this summer, plus some TTS alumni bands and the TTS faculty.  It's gonna be fun!

What is Take the Stage?
“Take the Stage” is a band performance workshop bringing aspiring musicians from around the Bay Area together to learn and perform bluegrass and roots music with expert coaching from professional musicians.  The workshop culminates in a performance on the world-class Freight & Salvage stage with professional sound engineering.

Background and mission:  “Take the Stage” was created by friends, Hilary Perkins, Lou Ponticas and Dan Barbee in the Fall of 2007.  The mission is to help people who have music in their hearts bring it out and share it, increase audience for and involvement in roots music, and build community around live music.
