Wintergrass is moving to the Hyatt Hotel in Bellevue, WA (2/25 – 2/28) and is going to be a “don’t miss” event! Ticket sales have outpaced last year, and, in fact, they’ve already sold out the guaranteed block of Hyatt rooms. The Hyatt has more rooms that they’ve been willing to open up for Wintergrass, but if folks plan to come, they should get these reserved ASAP. If you have a Wintergrass weekend pass, and reserve 3 nights at the Hyatt, the room rate is only $109 a night. (And this is a gorgeous Hyatt!)
The facility is going to be fantastic and they have an incredible lineup. Lots of room for jamming, and its a really cool place if folks have partners, spouses, friends tagging along who get bored and want other non-bluegrass activities. Its in a really safe, upscale downtown area. (Some of the top zip codes in the country are within a 5 mile radius of the Hyatt, including where Bill Gates of Microsoft lives).
We’re doing a Bluegrass in the Schools day long seminar for teachers on Friday Feb. 26. The fee is only $60 and includes a free Friday pass to Wintergrass, and all sorts of goodies (magazine, CDs, etc.) worth far more than the registration fee.
There’s a great Youth Academy Feb. 25 and 26 for 4th through 8th graders. Co-director is Joe Craven. Renata Bratt, PhD, from California is also one of the main instructors.
There’s also an adult Wintergrass Academy on Thursday Feb. 25 with Kenny Smith, Sammy Shelor and Dudley Connell.
